Safety and Fuel Handling Policy

Call 911 for emergencies. RoadRescue is for limited roadside assistance only and is not a police, fire, EMS, or emergency-response provider.
When we may refuse or cancel service
- The vehicle is in an active lane, crash scene, fire scene, or unsafe location.
- Police, fire, EMS, or highway authorities are needed first.
- The vehicle is inaccessible or the driver cannot safely work around it.
- Fuel type is uncertain or fuel delivery would be unsafe.
- The battery/fuel area appears damaged, leaking, smoking, modified, or otherwise unsafe.
- Weather, traffic, road closures, customer behavior, or other conditions create unacceptable risk.
Customer safety expectations
- Move away from traffic and remain in a safe place when possible.
- Use hazard lights if safe.
- Do not stand between vehicles or near active traffic.
- Keep children, pets, and bystanders away from the service area.
- Tell us about parking garages, locked lots, steep shoulders, leaks, smoke, smells, or known damage.
Fuel delivery rules
RoadRescue provides small-quantity emergency fuel delivery only. Fuel must be transported and dispensed using approved containers and safe handling practices. Fuel delivery is not intended for bulk resale, storage-tank filling, or routine fueling. Gasoline and diesel charges should be recorded separately from service charges when applicable.
Driver safety practices
- Use high-visibility gear and safe positioning.
- Carry appropriate fire extinguisher and spill-response supplies.
- Use approved fuel containers only.
- Document service location, service type, and safety exceptions.
- Stop work and escalate if conditions become unsafe.
Compliance note
RoadRescue should periodically confirm Maine Fire Marshal, Maine Revenue Services, insurance, OSHA, and applicable federal transportation requirements before expanding fuel quantities, adding mounted tanks, hiring employees, adding towing, or operating outside the initial service area.
